Dietetics

Adult community and outpatient dietetic services, including the gastro-enterology dietetic service is now being provided by Anglian Community Enterprise. As part of transition arrangements, Colchester Hospital University NHS Foundation Trust and ACE are working together to ensure continuity of service for patients. 

We will continue to provide a community and outpatient-based service, ensuring patients are seen in the most convenient and appropriate place dependent on their needs.

All referrals will be made through ACE’s community gateway as with other referrals to ACE services.  Referrals can be made online via clicking the following link:

 

Who should you refer to ACE Adult Dietetic Services?

Adults with a range of nutritional issues such as overweight (with comorbidities), obesity, malnutrition; underweight, food intolerance, gastro-intestinal illness


What support might they receive?

Clinic-based appointments in Clacton, Harwich or Colchester.

Home visits.

Telephone support.

  

How do you access the service?

Colchester Hospital University Foundation NHS Trust (CHUFT) will continue to provide dietetic input into some specialist consultant-led pathways.  These are Inflammatory Bowel Disease , Renal, Oncology and Complex Nutrition Support.  They will also continue to provide all paediatric dietetic input (other than specialist Learning Disability input) so referrals should continue to be made directly to CHUFT.
