We have two Community Hospitals
are Fryatt Hospital in Dovercourt, and Clacton and District
There are three inpatient wards
in the Community Hospitals; Kate Grant Ward, St Osyth
Priory Ward in Clacton and Trinity Ward at Harwich.
The Rapid Assessment Service is
based on St Osyth Priory Ward, providing assessment and diagnostics by Advanced
Nurse Practitioners, following a professional referral, for those patients not
requiring acute admission
St Osyth Priory Ward has 15
beds and provides admission avoidance inpatient short stay
Kate Grant Rehabilitation Unit
is provided to meet individual needs of patients recovering from stroke,
orthopaedic surgery and related mobility conditions.
Trinity ward has 21 beds for
the provision of rehabilitation.

When is the service provided?
Hospital Wards are open 24 hours a day every day
note. Only two visitors per bed. Flowers are not allowed on the wards as
they could increase the risk of infection.

How do people access the service?
Patients requiring admission to
community hospital beds are referred by their GP, Community Matron, Consultant
or from another hospital.
